Going to criminal court for the first time can be scary, confusing and intimidating. Familiarity with the courthouse – what to do and where to go, is more than half the battle.
We are pleased to announce the return of our always popular Criminal Court House Orientation for Articling Students/Licensing Candidates on Friday, August 30 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. To ensure that Articling Students/Licensing Candidates are better prepared, we are hosting an orientation and a tour of 3 court houses: 361 University Ave., the new OCJ Court House at 10 Armoury and Osgoode Hall at 130 Queen St W.
These sessions are FREE and always very popular. Spots fill up quickly, so register today. And yes, lunch will be provided!

Your tour will consist of stops at:
- Court house cells
- Crown’s office
- Lawyers Lounge
- Clerk’s office
- Trial office
- Cafeterias
- Legal Aid Offices
- And more!
The goal is to help students and newer associates become more comfortable at the court houses. Your tour guides will be experienced criminal counsel (defence and Crown.) There is no cost for the orientation, but registration is required as we have very limited spots.

- 1:00 p.m. - Registration in the TLA Lawyers Lounge at 361 University. Welcome from the Judiciary and introduction to the TLA. Break into groups for tours.
- 1:15 p.m. - Tour of the court houses with an overview of what happens in each.
- 2:15 p.m. - Q&A until 2:30 p.m.
