Join us for a free lunch and learn program, as we hear from Ken Murphy, Founder/CEO of IRIS (Insolvency and Restructuring Intelligent Search) on how to use this new and exciting legal technology resource to improve and expand your practice – now available at the TLA Library!

IRIS (Insolvency and Restructuring Intelligent Search) is an AI-powered searchable database focused on providing insolvency practitioners with a comprehensive collection of bankruptcy, Receivership, and CCAA pleadings, motions, facta, Monitor’s Reports, and more.

In this session you will:

  • Learn how to access the IRIS database, consisting of 150,000+ court filings from over 8,600 insolvency cases across Canada, via the TLA Library.
  • Learn about a cost-effective research tool that gives you the confidence to represent your commercial clients in insolvency-related disputes and will save you and your clients time and money.
  • Learn to quickly search key terms or issues that you need a precedent for so you can incorporate language into your own drafts.
  • Identify arguments from successful past pleadings to tailor your own winning strategies.
  • Identify key deal terms such as SISPs, KERPs, or Break Fees in previous cases and use that valuable data to create successful BIA proposals or Plans of Arrangement under the CCAA.
  • Refine and target your searches by applying filters for industry, proceeding type, and jurisdiction, to find the best outcomes for your specific client and reverse engineer a strategy to get there.
