“To thine own self be true.” –Polonius, Hamlet

TLA’s premiere annual professionalism program returns in-person in 2022 with a focus on leadership and authenticity.

You may aspire to be a leader, or you already are a leader by “title”, but are you a “leader” in the truest sense of the word?

It is one thing to have the title, but it is game changing to be the real deal. The idea of authentic leadership is that leaders are seen as being relatable, true to themselves and genuine. Does it work? Yes. Research shows that authentic leadership is the biggest predictor of an employee’s job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and workplace happiness.

From how to lead effectively while staying true to yourself, to how to have uncomfortable conversations, you are sure to come out of this program with inspiration and specific tools to assist you with your own leadership journey, no matter if you’re a licensing candidate, a new call, a senior associate, or a partner.

In a dynamic discussion this all-star panel, moderated by Jennifer Gold (Wood Gold LLP and Past President of the WLAO), with Faren Bogach (Construct Legal), Victoria Crewe-Nelson (LAWPRO), Crystal O’Donnell (Heuristica Discovery Counsel) and Christina Porretta (BDO Canada)  will examine the following in conversation:

  • What does leadership mean to you.
  • Finding your own leadership style.
  • What are the values of being an authentic leader.
  • What are some lessons learned on your journey.
  • How being authentic helps you achieve personal leadership goals.
  • The values of allyship and mentoring.
  • How to network in a way that works for you.
  • Value of diversity and inclusion.
  • Learning how to have the uncomfortable conversations (money, promotion, feedback, mistakes).

The plenary presentation will be followed by a mentoring mix & mingle

You will have an opportunity to speak with some of the brightest minds and most authentic leaders in our field to help you cultivate your own leadership journey.

Join us for this dynamic and inspiring evening. We encourage you to listen, talk, and ask questions. Learn from some authentic leaders as they discuss their own unique legal pathways.
