TLA AWARDS GALA
The TLA Awards Gala brings the legal community together to recognize its standout members. This event is about acknowledging the hard work and achievements of people who’ve made a difference in the legal field and beyond. Every year, the Awards Gala highlights individuals who are not only shaping the future of law but also making a positive impact in their communities.
A big part of the evening is the presentation of three awards, which honour outstanding contributions across different generations and areas of law.
The TLA Award of Distinction is awarded in recognition of the recipient's lifetime contribution to the integrity and worth of the law. He or she is recognized for individual excellence and outstanding achievements, as well as his or her dedication to the Toronto community, legal and at large. The recipient is chosen by the TLA Board of Directors.
In honour of John D. Honsberger, Past President and published historian of our association, this award recognizes a single unique accomplishment or ongoing contributions to our legal community exemplifying the TLA’s three pillars: Knowledge, Advocacy and Community, by a Toronto lawyer in practice between fifteen and twenty-five years.
The TLA Emerging Excellence Award is presented to a Toronto lawyer in practice for 10 years or less or Toronto organization in existence for 10 years or less who/that exemplifies leadership or innovation in advancing the TLA’s three pillars of Knowledge, Advocacy and Community.
