Jessica Zita, Lockyer Campbell Posner Barristers & Solicitors
Jessica Zita is an appellate associate at Lockyer Campbell Posner. Prior to this, Jessica worked at one of the oldest and most widely recognized criminal law firm in Canada, where she assisted in managing the firm’s very busy and reputable appellate division. She received her Juris Doctor at Osgoode Hall Law School and her Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University of Toronto. Jessica has represented clients at all trial and appellate levels, and has acted as counsel in numerous jury trials. During law school, Jessica worked as a judicial extern at the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeal, an intern at Crown Law Office – Criminal, and as a junior editor for the Journal of Law and Social Policy. Jessica is as well an alumna of Osgoode’s Criminal Law Intensive Program, instructed by the Honourable Justice Rondinelli and the Honourable Justice Di Luca. Jessica is also a recipient of the Wendy Babcock Social Justice Award and the Legal and Literary Society’s Student Honour Award.
She has appeared as a legal commentator on CBC, Advocate Daily, and Law Times, and has contributed to The Lawyer’s Daily. Jessica also contributes yearly to the Supreme Court Law Review. Jessica is also a recurring guest speaker at the Ontario Justice Education Network’s (OJEN) Courtrooms and Classrooms program, where she educates high school students on the role of a criminal defence lawyer within a courtroom.
